50 Years Later - On The Outer Banks

We had a great time with Nadia (née Chernosky) and Achilles Perry.  They met us at our beach house (they were on their way to South Carolina).  Nadia and Myron had not had any contact in 50 years!  They were undergrads together and even dated a couple of times.  We all drank, ate Dungeness crabs and heard the stories from the old days (those Nadia and Myron could still remember!).  We plan to see them again the next time we're in the NYC area.

Mother's Day Carolina Style!

Happy Mother's Day ! Opa and Myron took Oma and I out to the Carolina Inn for a scrumptious Mother's Day buffet. The food was great but Myron and Oma really enjoyed the desserts especially the chocolate!

Bodie Island Lighthouse is Open to the Public

Bodie Island Lighthouse is Open to the Public for the first time in 142 years. It has been completely refurbished. It is only 4 miles from our beach house in South Nags Head, NC. We climbed the circular steps to the top and stood out on the balcony below the original fresnel light. The prisms sprayed rainbows of colors.
The views are beautiful and we simply love OBX. We love it here! It was a windy day too with gusts from the North/ NorthEast.

Turks and Caicos 2013

 We all arrived in Paradise , Turks and Caicos, Club Med and promptly exclaimed over the white talcum sand, turquoise water. The water was warm and clear and sparkling. We sailed catamarans, Paul tried windsurfing, we kayaked, paddle boarded, snorkeled and those of us certified divers, dived the wall and reef. We saw sea turtles, many colored fish and coral and Paul saw a nurse shark. Spectacular!
Liza outdid herself on the trapeze and completed 2 midair catches! She is ready for the circus! Every meal was bountiful and delicious, the weather was perfect the entire time. We danced, drank, ate, and partied every evening.  Myron and I participated in the show! It was R rated! The pictures speak from themselves.

A Spring Afternoon 3 Mile Hike

 We took a wonderful hike on a 3 mile trail in Durham near the Duke Golf Course. It was a fabulous spring day with temperatures in the 70's. The Texas red buds and cherry trees were blooming and sprouting greens were everywhere.
These kinds of days are what make living in North Carolina so wonderful.
