House Hunting, Hans-Peter and Sushi

My cousin, Hans-Peter, from Germany arrived for 2 days for business to the Research Triangle Park! I hadn't seen him since 2005. He is a microbiologist and Managing Director for a big Pharma company and he is in partnership with a company in RTP. So he will be visiting more often! Lucky us... and he likes the weather here too.....After a few business meetings, he stayed with Oma and Opa, and Myron and I took him to Duke for a visit to the university and the gardens before his quick flight back. I hope he brings the family next time! We could spend some time at the beach...

Speaking of the beach, we were there last weekend and here is the pix of the house for those who can't remember!

Also I have discovered the joy of turtles on logs!
I have captured a pix here...not easy mind you..
they are skittish and leap off the logs if they hear you approaching. There are tons of them on logs in Alligator swamp... oh btw... we saw an alligator too... they must like turtle soup.

We have decided that NC is awesome and living here is sublime. So... we have been looking at houses and hope to leave our apartment in August when the lease expires. We have a great real estate agent and we are in a buyer's market, so we hope the prospects are good. This area has NOT been hit that hard by the housing decline; though many houses are for sale, few are at bargain prices. One is so far the best of the lot, and hopefully we can negotiate a good price... we shall see.
After a day of looking at houses, buying new running shoes ( we have over 500 miles on our shoes now and the gel is getting like concrete), we decided to make sushi for dinner... We purchased sashimi grade tuna, made sushi rice and miso soup and sat down to a terrific meal...

Tonight is a milonga (Tango) from 8pm till 2am... so on with the Tango shoes and tomorrow Easter relaxation with Oma and Opa at their house!

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and Passover !
