OBX for Thanksgiving with Oma and Opa

We had a good time at the beach house with Oma and Opa for Thanksgiving. Opa even walked 2 miles on the beach and we drove to the Hatteras Lighthouse for photo ops. The weather was cool but sunny and we ate out at Dirty Dicks Crab house and a local bar and grille in Hatteras.... Crab cakes were good and the local color very vibrant! Myron taught Opa computer concepts and Oma relaxed. We got back on Saturday and Myron and Anna enjoyed a house Milonga in Raleigh at Fran's house. We danced and chatted until 1:30 am!!! Here is Oma and Opa at Hatteras! I think we caught Oma with her tongue in her cheek!

Love you all and Happy Thanksgiving

Return from Las Vegas

The conference was good, our presentation well received, the food was great.... the gambling made our wallets a little lighter...but we got to spend super time with Paul and Julianne, watch the phenomenal "O", be puzzled and surprised by Penn and Teller, consume large quantities of superb cuisine and ETOH!
We strolled the Strip, gazed longingly at Yellow Lamborghinis, were overwhelmed by the hotel architecture and plush casinos but did manage to get dusty and dirty by horseback riding in the desert Red Rock Canyon. I must say it was a phenomenal trip ..... oohhh and the coffee at SEXPRESSO ( just down the Strip from the Riviera where we stayed ) made getting up in the morning an adventure. The female Baristas serve in sexy underwear!!! Only in Las Vegas?
Pictures forthcoming....

Wedding Pix from Janet!

Thank you Janet for sending such fabulous pictures of our day! Enjoy them everyone. They are in the Flickr Badge to the right of this post.

We have been busy working hard at our various jobs, exercising, visiting Oma and Opa as they settle in and, of course, Tango!

We are leaving this Tuesday for Las Vegas as Anna is going to present with her co-worker, Tim, at the AACE conference, her paper about e-learning and healthcare compliance. But of course the evenings are free and all three of us will enjoy Penn and Teller, good dinners, some casinos, and Cirque de Soleil "0". Happily, Paul and Julianne, will join us on Thursday and Friday so we plan on touring the Strip, a little gambling, some window shopping and eating terrific meals.
We return on Sunday in time for the short Thanksgiving week where we intend to take Oma and Opa to OBX for Thanksgiving...

Due to our passion for Tango, we have decided to rename the OBX Beach House. It will be renamed "TangoOBX" . I have designed a sign and hopefully we can find a sign maker to make it.
Stay tuned for our adventures in Las Vegas... oops I forgot, I have been told," What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." Sorry :-)

Days in Rodanthe

We were at the Outer Banks this past weekend. The weather was terrific, the sunshine continuous with only a slight breeze. The ocean was jade glass and the beaches were empty except for ghost crabs and sea birds. Hot tubbing under star studded skies, beach walks and climbing desolate dunes occupied our time in our sanctuary by the sea. We drove 20 miles south on the beach road to Rodanthe, passing windswept dunes, sea oats and heron to photograph the beach house where the movie Nights in Rodanthe was filmed with Richard Gere and Diane Lane. While it was being filmed, a storm caused substantial beach erosion. It is now condemned....as are many old beach houses on the OBX coast due to the undermining of the structures. Nevertheless, the house still stands, braced against the wind and the sea as if it is challenging the cancer that eats at its foundation. Such a romantic place, lonely and beautiful.

Love,
