At the Beach in OBX

Fantastic weather here in OBX. Sunny and warm.
We made the requisite visit to Home Depot to obtain the necessary things to make repairs and upgrades. Sean and his friend Mark will be arriving on April 1st to spend 2 weeks working on the place.
We walked the beach and picked some shells. Myron loves the black and red ones. Must be the Tango influence.

Love

Happy Spring!!!

The daffodils, magnolia trees, apple and pear and other flowering trees are heralding spring here in the South...
Weather is sunny and warm... grilling outdoors, walks in the woods, biking on the Tobacco Trail... trips to OBX...It doesn't get better than this!!!!!!!!!!!!

Speeding Ticket in Rural NC

Myron went to Columbia, NC (to appear in Traffic Court for a speeding ticket). Columbia is in the Dismal Swamp on the way to OBX. He took some photos.
A Lamborghini parked outside, obviously belonging to a rich person from the Outer Banks (where Anna has a house – but NOT a Lamborghini!).
A statue of General Pettigrew (a much respected general of “the Confederate States”). The words on the pedestal remark that “His North Carolinians went farthest at Gettysburg, PA”
Save your Confederate money, the South shall rise again!!

Did what had to be done...

Myron had surgery at the Moh's center at Duke. He had a skin cancer lesion on his chin which needed to be surgically removed. The Moh's center is nationally renowned and he had the surgery there on Friday, March 7th. Moh's surgery is surgery that manages to remove the least amount of healthy tissue while removing all the cancerous tissue. Once all the cancerous tissue is removed, the surgeon decides on how best to reconstruct with minimal disfiguring scarring. The entire day was spent at the Moh's center. Myron went back and forth 5 times for a total of 4 surgical removals and the plastic surgical fix.
After initial surgical pain, managed with Percocets, Myron is now pain free and able to get around just fine. Stitches come out on the 14th and then in a few months he will look like Harrison Ford with a rakish scar... LOL

March 2nd 65 Degrees and sunny

Yesterday we checked out places to hold our wedding festivities scheduled for late October.
Last night we Tangoed until 1am then slept till 9:30 this morning to awaken to another lovely day.
The weather is warming up nicely now that the winter is over in North Carolina.
The daffodils are blooming, some magnolias and crabapple trees are budding and warm sunshine beckons.
We went for a hike in the woods at Jordan Lake, quiet and beautiful with birds singing every once in a while. The sun was so warm and the woods smelled of spring.
When we got home, we sat in the sunshine on the porch and drank wine and ate cheese and crackers. Dinner was wonderful mushroom risotto, chicken and green beans and more wine.
Later on we watched the last 2 episodes of "House", our favorite show and decided this was a "purdy darn good" weekend
